description = Dick Kerr selected this Fairchild 71 (c/n 801) as his photo survey plane to take to Saudia Arabia in the 1934 aerial geological reconnaissance for Standard Oil of California (Socal).   A Fairchild 71 with similiar markings is on display at the Edmonton Aviation Heritage Museum; it was used in the filming of the movie “Captains of the Clouds” featuring James Cagney and Dennis Morgan.
